Janet W. Pratt
Senior Pastor, Harvest Time Worship Center
A native of Birmingham, England, Janet gave her heart to the Lord in July 1981. On August 14th of that same year she was baptized, and became a member of the Aberdeen Street Church of God of Prophecy in Birmingham, England. She quickly became involved in the ministries of the local church, singing in the youth choir, and was an active member of the Youth-Life Team. Janet is passionately in love with Jesus.
She received her Degree in Nursery Nursing at the College of Birmingham, England before migrating to New York in the late 1980’s. While in the United States, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Nyack College in Nyack, New York where her concentration was in Elementary Education/Psychology. She has also received her Master’s Degree with Distinction in School Administration and Supervision and is a licensed school principal. Janet also holds a second Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (Summa Cum Laude) from Mercy College in New York, in hopes of eventually opening a private practice in marriage and family counseling.
Janet has over 25 years of teaching experience ranging from Kindergarten; to Parent Educator (Cornell University); to Professor of Dramatic Arts and Theater at Nyack College in Nyack, New York. She has been inducted into the “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges” (this is an honor given only to a few students).
For over 11 years, Minister Janet worked full time for the 1199 Child Care Corporation as a Teacher, Mentor, Staff Developer, Summer Camp Director, Intern Supervisor and After School Coordinator.
Since calling Minister Pratt into the ministry, God has opened many doors and opportunities to spread His word through long and short-term mission trips at home and overseas, including The Islands of the Bahamas, Canada, Bermuda, Europe and Ecuador where she taught in a mission school.
She served faithfully for 20 years as the Regional Christian Education/Children’s Ministry Director for the Northeast Region and Bermuda with The Church of God of Prophecy. In her local church (The Bronx, NY) she served as the Worship Coordinator, Children’s Ministry Director and Associate Pastor under Bishop Earl McKay. She served faithfully in that capacity for several years. She has always been a very active member of the Church.
Over the years she has been a part of the youth choir, the youth life teams, and praise dance teams. She has also served as Chaplain for the Northeast Regional Choir. Her love for the Lord and Dramatic Arts afforded her to write a full gospel musical entitled “C.H.O.I.C.E.S” (The ministry Play) Which was first performed in NY and has since traveled to Birmingham England and Chicago, before making a triumphant return to New York – With even more cities to come.
In 2009, Minister Janet was found and married. Minister Janet Waite-Pratt now resides in Lemont, IL with her loving Husband Deacon Randolph Pratt, their son Carrington, and bonus children Randy, Natalya and Tamera.
Recently added to her credit is Author, as she has published her first book, “Dare to Unlock the Door: A Journey to Freedom and Wholeness”.
She continues to teach, minister with the “Ministering In Excellence All Nations” Youth and Leadership Refreshing Conference.
Along with her Husband Deacon Pratt, she now serves in the Great Lakes Region Church Of God Of Prophecy where they have been appointed Senior Pastors at Harvest Time Worship Center of Burbank IL.
